In general, the social media profiles can be seen as external validation of your brand. Google recommends in GBP the 7 profiles you need to create, and they even allow us to add social media profiles to Google Search console now.

Would they do that, if social media didnt matter? I dont think so...

Social media profiles are important for LLM visibility. You saw that with King of AEO content, and when you check out Google AI overview, you notice, how many times a Youtube video, Reddit post or Linkedin post are being used as citations.

Meta, that owns Facebook, Threads and Instagram are creating their own search engine. Do you think you are going to be presented in that, if you dont post on the three mentioned platforms? I think not...

When you have a decent following, you can even get more organic traffic from social media. Imagine you post about your service and company, but dont include a backlink. People will then go to Google and search your brand name. Which will lead to increased brand searches, which will appear in Google Search Console.

So. What to do now?
