Link building for new websites
For all new websites, this is what I do to build authority and backlinks.
Start by setting up the GBP. Add as much info as possible, add the website, and add all social media profile urls.
The GBP is the knowledge and authority hub in the eyes of Google.
1. Create core social profiles - YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X, Instagram, TikTok, threads, Bluesky. The first 7 can be added to your GBP. Link to website, and cross-link between social media profiles.
2. Build citations - NAP. Post business info constistently. Add short description and link to socials. The more citations, the stronger your social media profiles and website.
3. Press release distribution - brand story and homepage + key internal links. Use ABNewswire or similar.
4. Donation links - local clubs/communities or public donor pages like OSS projects. These links are overlooked, relatively cheap, but carry great power.
5. Cloud links - static HTML on major cloud subdomains. Interlink them and point to main category pages. I use https://yacss.site for this.
6. Manual profile links about . me, linktr . ee, etc. Build steadily, interlink them, and use relevant entities in the content on these links.
7. Guest posts / paid placements - once the base is in place, and you are ready to scale linkbuilding. Use marketplaces like Bazoom, Presswhiz or similar.
